Marquette, selected as one of America's Most Livable Communities, has lots to do any season of the year with mountain biking, hiking, golfing, fishing, Nordic and Alpine skiing, snowmobiling, and countless other outdoor opportunities. Below we've selected a few of our favorite destinations. Click the links to see them on the map.

  • Marquette Golf Club:  The best golfing opportunity in the area. The "Greywalls" course, a newly added 18 holes designed by Mike DeVries, has helped this local club become a world-class golf experience.

  • Marquette Maritime Museum:  View the maritime history of Marquette and Lake Superior through the fascinating prism of the Marquette Maritime Museum. Open during the summer months from 10 am to 4 pm.

  • Presque Isle Park:  The drive to and around Presque Isle boasts some of the most spectacular views of Lake Superior anywhere (take Lake Shore Drive), as well as plenty of beautiful public beaches. On the island, there are miles of trails that can be enjoyed during the summer or winter months. Bring your cross-country skis!

  • Marquette Mountain:  Who says you can't ski in the midwest? Marquette Mountain serves as Marquette's best ski opportunity during the winter months. During the summer, its rugged terrain is open for day hikers, and the lodge doubles as a live music venue.
